Silent Circle

TOUCH IN THE NIGHT
I ....iiiiii.
remember all the cries
It's a secret dream I'm lost in your love.
You ....uuuuuuu
Your lonesome eyes are all I wanna know
Helpless tears can never stop the rain.
Only you can turn my life
Can turn it just this way.
A touch in the night - it feels like heaven
Touched in the night - so lucky in love.
Lost in your light - another secret
Touched in the night - whatever I do.
YouMy angel in disguise
Deep inside my heart Like the inner light.
I believe in all your promise and your lies
But I feel in the end I'll lose.
Only you can turn my life
Can turn it just this way.
A touch in the night - it feels like heaven
Touched in the night - so lucky in love.
Tomght I feelI feel for you
Tonight I call I'm calling your name
Tonight I feelI feel for you - tonight.
Only you can turn my life
Can turn it just this way. . . .

IPL

The Indian Premier League has kicked off in South Africa with much fan-fare. The event was shifted to SA because it coincided with the General Elections. The cricket-fans would rather have 'the IPL-circus' than the ongoing 'election circus'. Last year, the inauguration was low key, not mention various starting troubles, from flood-lights to cheer-leaders. But the event subsequently went on to catch the imagination of an entire nation. This year, with the politicians having their own version of 'IPL', it remains to be seen how the event repeat last years success.

Anyway something is better than nothing. No true cricket-fan will miss the oppurtunity to watch their heroes in action, home or away. My support naturally goes to the team of my favourite cricketer - Saurav'Dada'Ganguly's Kolkata Khight Riders. Now that Saurav has well and truly retired from International cricket, it is better to call him 'KKR-Dada'.

Pretending not to see their needs
Am7 Dsus4/B
A summer disregard,
Csus2
a broken bottle top
Dsus4/B
And a one man soul
Am7Dsus4/B
They follow each other on the wind ya' know
C C/D
'Cause they got nowhere to go
That's why I want you to know
CHORUS
G Dsus4/B Csus2 C/D
I'm starting with the man in
the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
G Dsus4/B C C#dim
And no message could have been any clearer
C5+/D
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change
G D/F# Em D/F # C C/D
G D/F# Em D/F#
I've been a victim of a selfish kind of love

It's time that I realize
G D/F# Em D/F#
That there are some with no home,
not a nickel to loan
C C/D
Could it be really me,
pretending that they're not alone?

Am7 Dsus4/B Csus2
A willow deeply scarred, somebody's broken heart
Dsus4/B
And a washed-out dream
Am7 sus4/B
They follow the pattern of the wind ya' see

'Cause they got no place to be

That's why I'm starting with me
Chorus Repeat

I'm starting with the man in the mirror

Sania Mirza

Congratulations Sania Mirza! Sania with her partner Chia-Jung Chuang , beat Kveta Peschke and Lisa Raymonds 6-3,4-6,10-7 to win the MPS Group Championship in Florida. This is Sania's second title win of the year. Early this year, she and Mahesh Bhupathi have won the Australian Open mixed-doubles. By staging a spectacular comeback, Sania once again proved her critics wrong. As long as Sania plays good tennis and stay fit, the rest comes as a bonus. As for those who are worried about her world rankings, better ask them -what are your own world-rankings ?

Shashi Tharoor

It is a matter of great pride for all Keralites that their beloved son Dr.Shashi Tharoor has choosen to contest in 2009 General elections. But there has been a lot of heart-burning over Shashi Tharoor's candidature. Ofcourse a certain amount of allegations and counter-allegations are part and parcel of any democratic elections. But the mud-slinging campaign against him was certainly uncalled for.
I think all Indians, irrespective of their region , should support the likes of Mr.Tharoor.Here is a diplomat of world prominence, who left his secure career in the West , to serve his motherland. How many NRI's have shown such large-heartedness ? Any regular reader of Shashi Tharoor's erst-while The Hindu column's will not mistake his personnel honesty and integrity. If he had wished, Mr.Tharoor could have contested from prime centers such Delhi or Mumbai. But he choose his home-state Kerala. Now it is for all Keralites to vote their proud son to the parlament and set an example to the rest of the nation.

XYZ

The drama performance 'XYZ' was excellent. Apart from the fine performances bythe actors, the drama brilliantly showcased the French/Europeon tradition of theatre which is entirely, different from this part of the world. The show also introduced the non-living 'actors' in the form of a doll, broom, lantern, water-pump,utensils etc.
Initially, for an untrained eye, the 'stage' looked hardly impressive.Infact it reminded of a drama performances conducted in nursery schools. But later one realises that it is indeed a miniature-version of the old Greek/Roman theatre. As the viewer get engrossed in the play , it was like watching a movie. The audio and lighting-effects was also very effective. The multi-talended Emmanuel Courtin and Elena Koutoulidis made the one-hour most absorbing. In the end , the audience felt the show ended quickly, and could have lasted longer.Kudos also to the director Jean-Marie Carrel.
The Italian classic movie 'The Bicycle Thieves' had demonstrated that with is a simple ,running camera one can make good movies. Similarly, the drama 'XYZ' demostrates to the art-lovers of Cochin that one do not need an auditorium or A/C hall or lavish back-grounds to conduct a play. Nor there is need for outpouring 'fans' and supporters. If the idea/concept is brilliant, all you need is your OWN environs and your friends and well-wishers as audience. The rest will follow naturally, which I am sure be in the case of Villveli Art Factory.
