IPL

The Indian Premier League has kicked off in South Africa with much fan-fare. The event was shifted to SA because it coincided with the General Elections. The cricket-fans would rather have 'the IPL-circus' than the ongoing 'election circus'. Last year, the inauguration was low key, not mention various starting troubles, from flood-lights to cheer-leaders. But the event subsequently went on to catch the imagination of an entire nation. This year, with the politicians having their own version of 'IPL', it remains to be seen how the event repeat last years success.

Anyway something is better than nothing. No true cricket-fan will miss the oppurtunity to watch their heroes in action, home or away. My support naturally goes to the team of my favourite cricketer - Saurav'Dada'Ganguly's Kolkata Khight Riders. Now that Saurav has well and truly retired from International cricket, it is better to call him 'KKR-Dada'.
